    Description

    An original Civil War era Smith patent shoulder strap for a second lieutenant of infantry. This particular type of strap--widely used during the Civil War--features a stamped brass border that mimics the look of bullion wire. The overall length of each strap is about 4” long by just under 1 1/2” wide. Fair condition with a portion of the blue cloth missing from the field.
