Original Civil War company letter "G" cap insignia.  Die stamped brass with it's original loop fastener to the reverse.  Standard 1" height.  Non-excavated.  Please see Campbell and O'Donnell's American Military Headgear Insignia, Fig. 387.  Please judge condition for yourself based on the pictures and if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.
