Large Vintage Berber sterling Silver Khamsa with Salamander Collectibles Museum Piece

A very large, solid and eye-catching vintage khamsa, handcarved and with raised central salamander.
Would make a beautiful addition to a collection.
Symbolism:
The salamander represents rebirth, surviving the fiery heat of the desert and re-emerging with rain. In Berber iconography it is represented literally in jewelry and geometrically in textiles and facial tattoos.
In Muslim Berber tradition the khamsa ("5" in Arabic) represents the Hand of Fatima, the daughter of the prophet Mohammed, whereas amongst Jewish Berbers it represented the hand of Miriam, sister of Prophet Moses.
