This is a historic note that is over 135 years old!  The note features the head of
"William M. Meredith
" and a BIG
RED
SEAL on the front. Both sides on the back state "Act of March 3rd 1863."
William M. Meredith
was the 19th "Secretary of the Treasury".  He began his term in March of 1849.
This note is known as fractional currency which was issued from February 26, 1874 through February 15, 1876.
This is a
SATIRICAL "HOBO" FRACTIONAL
!  It's similar to the Hobo nickel.  This type was sometimes drawn over in pen and ink.  It's a nice
turn of the century folk-art note.
This is a Fine condition note overall with splits in the margins, and the note has been mounted to a piece of paper.  Please take a look at the pictures to see the note for yourself.

We ship all our items via USPS First Class, Priority or Express Mail. We package all the notes in a protective sleeve with a cardboard backing and ship them in a bubble envelope.
Most items shipped within the United States have a modest shipping and handling fee depending on the value of the item(s). For our International customers, if you purchase multiple items, we will ship all purchases in one envelope so you pay only one shipping fee.  We will ship your item(s) within 5 days from the purchase date. If you plan on bidding on more of our auctions, please let us know and we will hold off on shipping.
